A Wyoming native, Tana Doerr relocated to Elko in 1986. Tana picked up a watercolor brush in 1979 at Casper College (Casper, Wyoming) in what she describes as a "life changing experience." Filled with a passion for the medium, she immediately began expanding her knowledge under the guidance of Wyoming artisans such as Steve Naegle, Jan Lindsay and Montana Naegle. After arriving in Elko, Tana participated in several art classes at Great Basin College.
"I am fascinated with the transparent sparkle of watercolor." says Doerr. "My art is best delivered with simple brush strokes and presentation of subjects, mostly landscape and still life to date. The application of spontaneous, free formats and utilizing the amazing qualities of the medium itself are my passion. I am inspired by nature and the beauty surrounding us everyday. I hope to capture some of the essence of the beauty of our world in my work."
Tana Doerr is a member of the Elko County Art Club.
